Distribution of the dainty green tree frog.
wikipedia
I noticed a bunch of frogs crawling out of the drains in my bathroom.
Most likely they had spawned nearby in the grass during rainy conditions, and had made their way to the shelter of the drain pipes, gaining entry via the breather vent before growing too large to escape again.
Many of the frogs who emerged into the house died due to inhospitable indoor conditions; the robo vac, the dogs, dust bunnies, dehydration.
I put together a paludarium - making a creek bank scene - to give them conditions more similar to their native environment.
I have identified the frog species as dainty green tree frog (Ranoidea gracilenta) a native to this region
Since then they have thrived, putting on weight and generally resting at the top of the enclosure during the day and hunting at night.
Their diet is a mix of feeder crickets and woodies, occasionaly topped up with a calcium supplement
